Children Murdered
CHILDREN MURDERED BY BRITISH FORCES (152)
CHILDREN MURDERED BY IRISH FORCES (20)
*WE WOULD APPRECIATE ANY additions/corrections to the above. It now includes six of twelve killings about which reasonable individuals could disagree as to whether they constitute murder. Omitted, for example, are British paramilitaries Mark Dodd and Robert Freeman (both 17) who died along with two adults in the premature explosion of a car bomb they were driving to a Catholic location. The negligence of the accompanying adults was not considered so gross as to be considered murder.
*IRELAND’S PRESIDENT Mary Robinson, who consistently refused to meet with any parents of murdered Irish children, flew to the funerals of Ball and Perry, the two English children. She also attended their anniversary memorials.
*THE KILLINGS OF BALL AND PERRY prompted a gov’t and news media supported mass protest in Dublin “against the killing of children.” Parents of some 120 Irish children murdered by Brit forces attended the protest, believing that such concern would include them. They carried placards made of enlarged photos of their murdered children. They were assaulted and ejected by protest organizers who also wrested the photos from them and tore them up. Thus was it made clear: Ireland’s president, gov’t and news media made a cause celebre of the IRA’s killings of two English children, but Britain’s killings of 120 Irish children could not be mentioned in public. Protest organizers were Families Against Intimidation and Terror (FAIT) and New Consensus, both later proven to be founded and funded by British Intelligence.
